Born and raised
in the mountains of Utah. Steven has grown
to be an outdoorsman. Camping, hiking,
and exploring the rugged lands of Northern
and Southern Utah is a regular activity
of he and his friends. Growing up in the
mountain community of Sundance he was constantly
influenced by nature and the arts. He grew
up with three brothers who influenced each
other to reach new levels in exploration,
sport, and life. Skiing was a huge part
of his youth.
He
and his brothers ski raced side by side
pulling and pushing each other along into
their mid teens. With hard work and God
given talent, Steven rose to the highest
level of Alpine Skiing, competing on the
International FIS World Cup Circuit.
It all started when he won the World Junior
Championships Slalom title in 2002 as a discretionary
pick from the coaches. The result qualified
him for the World Cup Finals where he had
a rough first run. He brushed off the initial
World Cup nerves and laid down a great second
run for the 6th fastest time. A rarity for
a kids first World Cup attempt!! He then
suffered two broken legs (skateboarding in
2002 and skiing in 2004) during the next
few years, but he didn’t quit. He compiled
2 US National Downhill Titles (2003, 2005)
and racked up several other lower level wins
before he broke onto the World cup circuit
again in 2006. His first start of the season
he finished 14th and shocked the speed tour.
He continued his success through the whole
season. The highlight of his 2006 season
was a 4th place finish in Garmisch Partenkirchen,
Germany, just missing the podium!! As a member
of the 2006 Torino Olympic Team Steven competed
in the Downhill, Super G, and Combined events.
He once again turned heads by finishing 24th
in the Downhill and 13th in Combined for
the overall discipline standings. Steven
has proven he is a consistent World Cup performer
and one of America’s top alpine skiers
by skiing at an elite Levin in four of the
five disciplines. Look for Steven to be a
threat for the Overall World Cup glove in
the future!!

Why I Chose A Childs
Hope Foundation For My Charity
In 2004 I went to Haiti with A Childs Hope
Foundation to help build an orphanage. It was
an eye opening and motivating experience. The
people of Haiti had nowhere to start and the
orphan rate is overwhelming. The people at
ACHF are good friends and I know and see where
the time and money goes, back to the children.
Creating an opportunity for someone is one
of the greatest feelings you can have.
