Shelly Robertson,
born and raised in Nevada, began skiing
at the early age of three. She followed
her mom around the mountains until the
age of 15 when she joined the Squaw Valley
Freestyle Team. Her coaches immediately
recognized Shelly's potential, and the
vision of one day going to the Olympics
was conceived. She made the U.S. Freestyle
Ski Team in 1998 to pursue her dream, and
is an Olympic Hopeful for the upcoming
2010 Winter Games in Whistler.

Since
her career began, Shelly has competed all
over the globe on the World Cup Freestyle
Tour, as well as finding a passion for
competing in Extreme Skiing events. She
has many top finishes including first place
in both World Cup and Big Mountain competitions.
In addition to the mountains, Shelly loves
to water ski and play volleyball, and is
often found in the waves in Baja surfing
and kiteboarding. Avi, her Border Collie,
is always by her side, trying to keep up. |

Why I Chose Sky Tavern
Junior Ski Program For My Charity
I look forward to helping raise money for my
charity, the Sky Tavern Junior Ski Program.
I'm excited about this program because it provides
children with the opportunity to learn how
to ski. By donating to this cause we will be
giving children the opportunity to ski, even
though their families never could have afforded
them to do so! To sponsor a child for the full
8 weeks of ski lessons, lift tickets, and bus
expenses costs only $195. We're going to try
to raise money to send 15 underprivileged kids
to the program, so about $3000. In this program
each child is given a lesson for the first
two hours of the day and then is allowed to
ski with friends and family for the remainder
of the day. The program also provides transportation
from various schools in Reno, allowing city
children the opportunity to experience the
mountains. Please help me in raising money
for these kids and providing them with the
opportunity to fulfill their skiing dreams!!!!
