My name is
Emiko Torito. I’m from Denver,
CO and I ski for Steamboat Springs. I’m
26 years old; my birthday is July 2nd,
1982.
I’ve been on the US Ski Team for eight
years. In all honesty, I’ve only
experienced mediocre success prior to this
last season; then I won my first world cup.
I ended up 5th in the World Cup overall. I
mention my mediocre results on my bio because
I believe it’s a
large
part of my success. I would like
to list persistence and longevity on my
list of accomplishments. In addition,
I competed in the Snow Bird Big Mountain
event and finished the final in the top
16. Big mountain skiing is a new
challenge that I’d like to pursue
more.

Why I Chose Planned
Parenthood Club For My Charity
I chose Planned Parenthood as my charity because
I believe in the importance of family and women’s
health. As a female athlete, I
cannot take my health for granted. For
a woman, achieving a great athletic performance
means achieving a great understanding of one’s
own body. I believe Planned Parenthood
stands for the independent woman’s best
interests in health as well as in life.
